Dalton Recruitment is very pleased to be partnering this leading global support services firm to secure a new Regional HR Business Partner to cover a portfolio of contracts, primarily in the North of England, for one on its key business units.
With an HR background in multi-site, dispersed blue collar operations, the HR Business Partner will provide day to day support and strategic HR advice to the Portfolio Operations Director to allow them to achieve their business goals. This will include leading the people agenda for any change/transformation work relevant to the business area. The role also partners the contracts managers ensuring the smooth delivery of the operational HR service across their London regional contracts.
Reporting to the business unit Head of HR and with a dedicated team in support consisting on an HR Manager and two HR Advisors, the role requires an experienced HR practitioner who will bring a proactive, common sense driven but commercially and strategically focused approach and who is driven to deliver HR excellence in all their actions both internally and externally by supporting the delivery of the divisional and regional people strategy and embedding good people management practices throughout.
The role allows for hybrid working but will require you to be based out of the Stoke-on-Trent office if not working from home or travelling to contracted sites (they try to get people in the office 3 days week as a general rule of thmb).
Previous experience within the support services sector is advantageous but as long as skills are transferable, candidates from other sectors will hold equal weight. What is essential is an inner understanding to the complexities and challenges of delivering an HR service in a comparable environment encompassing dispersed blue collar workforce, unionised, TUPE in/out, complex employee relations etc.

- HR Generalist background having operated at a similar level in a comparable environment.
- Experience of developing HR strategies that deliver improved business performance across the business in a multi-site environment.
- Experience of delivering change in complex and demanding environments.
- Experienced working with Trade Unions.
- Solid stakeholder relationship skills with evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers.
- Highly impactful and articulate, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to assimilate information quickly and communicate key messages simply and effectively to the business to aid decision making.
- Good strategic thinker with the ability to operate with a hands-on, pragmatic approach.
- Strongly values led individual with excellent judgement and decision making skills.
- Self-aware yet highly resilient individual capable of challenging and being challenged.
- Proven record of developing successful people management strategies that deliver financial and reputation improvements to the business.
- Track record of developing effective collaborations and partnerships and building consensus in matrixed and cross-functional environments.
- Experience of providing HR support to large blue collar workforce.
