Dalton Recruitment is proud to have been asked by the Procurement Director of this fantastic UK & European business to secure them an experienced Procurement Governance, Process & Systems Manager. Joining the Procurement function in Woking in a newly formed role, the Procurement Governance, Process & Systems Manager will play a pivotal role in strengthening governance across the function, driving process excellence and optimising all systems across the full procurement lifecycle.
Joining the client at a very exciting time and working closely with the Procurement Director and wider senior leadership team, this is a highly strategic and influential position which will help mould the frameworks, tools and processes that underpin their procurement activity, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, transparency and value which in turn will allow the client to deliver its overarching business strategy.
It is a key leadership role which will shape the future of the procurement function and offers the opportunity to drive innovation and efficiency across a major, multi-stakeholder environment.
It’s a new position within the Procurement team and so presents a really exciting opportunity for the right individual. Primarily based in Woking, it offers one day/week working from home (with a bit of additional flexibility as required) but it will require regular travel other UK and European locations as business needs dictate.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and uphold robust procurement policies, processes and controls
- Lead governance activity, including chairing procurement review forums and ensuring delegated authorities are applied consistently
- Oversee audit activity and ensure timely completion of recommendations
- Drive compliance performance and create reporting frameworks
- Develop supply chain risk management processes and mitigation plans
- Optimise procurement workflows and simplify processes to enhance efficiency
- Review and strengthen tail-spend management and purchasing card solutions
- Lead the deployment and enhancement of procurement technology
- Deliver modern, effective spend analytics and reporting capability
- Promote automation, data integrity and digital best practice
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation and transformation across the Procurement function and activities
- Define and track KPIs, SLAs and savings performance
- Support annual budget planning and continuous spend monitoring
- Shape supplier onboarding, performance management and audit frameworks
- Build a strong culture of category management, coaching and guiding the team
- Deputise for the Procurement Director when required and represent the function at senior forums
Key Deliverables
- Delivery of a robust and regularly updated set of policies, procedures, and controls, and demonstrable increases in compliance to these policies, procedures and controls.
- Timely completion of all audit finding corrective actions.
- Delivery of supply chain risk register and mitigation plan.
- Delivery of a modern suite of spend analytics.
- Demonstrative improvement to Procurement processes and systems, leading to increases in effectiveness and efficiency.
- Delivery of a managed set of Procurement KPIs and savings reporting.
- Procurement budgets managed throughout annual budgets and reporting cycle.
- Deliver a risk-based supplier management programme.
- Establish a framework for the establishment of professional Category Management in Procurement.
Minimum Experience to Be Considered:
- Experience of deploying Procurement governance, process and systems within large scale matrixed Procurement organisations.
- Wider experience of delivery across the full Procurement category management life cycle within large scale organisations, from category strategy development, strategic procurement project delivery, negotiation and contracting, and supplier management.
- Demonstrable experience in significant change management and transformation initiatives.
- Ability to influence varied stakeholder groups at all levels.
